The Southeast Fountain Community Foundation is pleased to award $5,000 to the annual, three-week Veedersburg Summer Park Program. The program provides children in the Veedersburg community with a safe, engaging environment during the summer months while promoting healthy choices, positive relationships, and personal growth.
“Our goal is to create a place where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to make positive decisions,” said John Kiger, Director of the Veedersburg Summer Park Program. “Through recreational activities, educational opportunities, and mentorship, we hope to help participants build confidence, develop healthy habits, strengthen friendships, and gain a greater sense of connection to their community.”
Daily activities include art projects, science activities, table games, exercise, sports, swimming at the town pool, playground time, guest speakers, anti-bullying projects, tobacco and drug prevention education, community service projects, and more.
“Programs like the Veedersburg Summer Park Program provide much more than entertainment for children during the summer,” said Taylor Powell, CEO of the Community Foundation. “They create opportunities for young people to stay active, learn new skills, build meaningful relationships, and grow in a positive environment. We are proud to support a program that invests in the well-being and future of the children in our community.”
