New Fund: Kenneth “Kenny” H. Knowles Scholarship Fund

The Kenneth “Kenny” H. Knowles Scholarship Fund, established by Kenny’s family in his memory, supports Covington High School graduates pursuing a career in education and/or preparing for a career in the teaching profession. Applicants must show a strong commitment to becoming an educator at any level—from early childhood to higher education.

A 1967 graduate of Covington High School, Kenny earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Purdue University, where he was the featured tenor soloist with the Glee Club and once called the “Best Collegiate Entertainer in America.” Encouraged by his teachers to develop his God-given talents in singing and art, he did just that—excelling as both a performer and educator. Kenny taught English and Biblical Literature at Carmel High School for over 30 years, inspiring countless students and colleagues. He also painted sets for the school’s Performing Arts Department and served as a featured soloist at his church for more than 40 years, reflecting his deep faith and passion for teaching the Bible.

Contributions to the Kenneth “Kenny” H. Knowles Scholarship Fund are tax-deductible and can be made online at www.wicf-inc.org or mailed to: Covington Community Foundation, ATTN: Kenny  Knowles Scholarship Fund, PO Box 175, Covington, IN 47932.
