The Southeast Fountain Community Foundation awarded a $2,500 grant to Fountain Central High School (FCHS) that supported the school’s annual Academic Awards Program. This year, the program took place on October 28, 2025.
The Academic Awards Program recognizes and celebrates the hard work and achievements of students who excel academically. Cheryl Yager, Guidance Secretary at FCHS, shared the school’s mission behind the event, saying, “We hope to challenge every student to strive for and achieve high expectations while motivating them to reach for success beyond their high school years. Whether they pursue higher education, specialized professions, or vocational training, we aim to prepare them with the discipline to work hard, persevere, and develop a love for what they do. We also hope to give their parents, family members, and friends a sense of pride as they celebrate the students’ accomplishments.”
Dale White, CEO of the Community Foundation, states, “We are proud to support the Academic Awards Program, which not only celebrates student achievements but also encourages them to continue striving for success in their future endeavors. It’s an honor for the Foundation to invest in students who are committed to making a difference, both in the classroom and beyond.”
