Vermillion County Community Foundation Awards $25,000 Grant to Support Emergency Response Equipment

The Vermillion County Community Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to Vermillion County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) to purchase new automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for fire departments throughout Vermillion County.

The funding will help equip local first responders with standardized AEDs, ensuring greater compatibility among emergency response agencies across the county. By using the same equipment as the county’s ambulance service, emergency personnel can work more seamlessly during medical emergencies.

“Supporting our first responders means supporting the safety and well-being of our entire community,” said Taylor Powell, CEO of the Vermillion County Community Foundation. “This grant will help ensure emergency personnel across Vermillion County have consistent, reliable equipment that allows them to work together as efficiently as possible.”

Vermillion County Emergency Management Agency works closely with local fire departments and emergency responders to coordinate emergency preparedness and response efforts throughout the county. Providing agencies with standardized equipment strengthens collaboration and enhances the county’s ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
