The Vermillion County Community Foundation has awarded a $2,500 grant to the South Vermillion High School baseball program to assist with the purchase of a new pitching machine.
The new equipment will be used by both the high school and middle school baseball teams, helping create a safer and more effective practice environment for student-athletes.
Justin Lowry, Athletic Director at South Vermillion High School, said the pitching machine will be a valuable addition to the program’s training equipment.
“Pitching machines are a vital tool for baseball teams of all ages,” Lowry said. “They help simulate game-speed pitches, something you cannot get from coaches. Our kids deserve to have the best practices possible, and providing them with this pitching machine and practice balls is one way to make sure that happens.”
