The Gabriella “Gabby” Blankenship Fund has been established to support graduating seniors from Covington High School or from a Montgomery County high school, including Crawfordsville, North Montgomery, or Southmont High School.
Established in 2025, the Gabriella “Gabby” Blankenship Scholarship honors the vibrant life and ambitious spirit of Gabriella Blankenship, who passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 22. Gabby was the beloved daughter of Bryan Blankenship and Misty Allen and a 2021 graduate of North Montgomery High School. She was preparing to celebrate her graduation from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality on May 18, 2025, and was set to begin her dream career as a food and beverage manager at Mauna Lani – Auberge Resorts in Hawaii. Known for her infectious laughter and outgoing personality, Gabby left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Dale White, CEO of the Western Indiana Community Foundation, expressed, “We are honored to steward the Gabriella ‘Gabby’ Blankenship Fund and to support students who share her ambition, drive, and passion. This scholarship ensures Gabby’s bright spirit and dedication continue to inspire future graduates in Covington and Montgomery County.”
The final selection is based upon the following criteria (in order of importance): financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular engagement, community impact, and character assessment. The applicant(s) must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
Two scholarships will be awarded annually: one to a graduating senior from Covington High School and one to a graduating senior from a Montgomery County high school. This scholarship will be awarded in May 2026.
