ARTS, CULTURE, and HISTORIC PRESERVATION

Fountain County 1842 Historic Clerk’s Building
Provides funding for operating and maintaining the historic 1842 clerk’s building museum in Covington.

Historic Sites of Fountain County Fund
Provides financial support for the upkeep and maintenance of historic sites in the Fountain County area.


FAITH

First Baptist Church of Covington Fund
Provides support for the First Baptist Church of Covington to carry out its role and mission.

H-R Gideon’s International Fund
Provides funds for the H-R Gideon’s to purchase and distribute Bibles and/or New Testaments worldwide.


COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT

Bank of Western Indiana Projects Fund
Provides support for projects in the Fountain County area.

City of Covington Fund
Provides financial support for projects that enhance the City of Covington.

Covington Cemetery Preservation Fund*
Provides grants for the preservation of cemeteries in the City of Covington.

Covington Circle Trail Fund
Provides for the construction cost and continued development of the recreational trail planned to circle the City of Covington.

Covington High School Class of 1960 Memorial Fund*
Provides support for community/school projects and/or scholarships.

Covington Sidewalk Fund
For support of new sidewalks and repair of existing sidewalks in Covington.

Covington Memorial Projects Fund
Develop and maintain memorial projects and activities in the Fountain County area.

Projects in Memory of Don & Peggy Clark
Provides funding for community improvements in Covington.

Family Crisis Shelter Sumption Fund
Provides grants in Fountain County for services to aid victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Kids in Need Fund
To provide assistance for programs aiding underprivileged children in Covington.

Master Guard Community Projects Fund
Provides financial support for projects in Fountain County for programs including Health and Safety. Also provides support for scholarships for Automotive, Vocational and Mechanical Engineering degrees.

Old National Bank
Provides grants for meeting the changing needs of the Covington community.

Preschool Fund
Provides funding for education and development programs for preschool aged children in the Covington school district.

Sam Miller 4-H Memorial Fund
Provides an annual monetary award to a 4-H member who has excelled in the study of nature, with priority given to forestry, weeds, birds or wildlife programs.

Montgomery Savings & Loan Fund
To provide grants for meeting the changing needs of the Covington community.

Covington Community Fund
Provides grants to meet the ever-changing needs of the Covington community.

Verna Glascock Shelton Fund
Provides funding for charitable, benevolent or educational organizations which are active in or will benefit Fountain County.


COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

4-H Foundation Fund
Provides financial support for capital expenditures at the 4-H Fairgrounds and/or award scholarship grants.

4-H Junior Leader’s Fund
Provides financial support for projects and activities of the Fountain County 4-H Junior Leaders.

Covington Public Library Fund
Provides support for the Covington Public Library.

Covington Band Parents Fund
Provides funding for programs and development of the Covington High School Band.

Covington City Park Fund
Provides financial support for educational/developmental programs for summer camp at the park. Also provides support for operation and development of programs and facilities of the City Park.

Covington Little League Fund*
Provides support for one time projects and/or capital needs for the Covington Little League.

Covington Nursery School Fund
Provides funding for programs and projects for the Covington Nursery School to carryout and fulfill its role and mission.

Covington Tree Replacement Fund
Donations to this fund will provide support to the City of Covington to facilitate and encourage planting of replacement and additional new trees in qualifying areas of the community.


Covington Youth Soccer League Fund*
Provides funding for programs and projects for the Covington Youth Soccer League to carry out and fulfill its role and mission.

Fountain County ARC
Provides support for projects of the Fountain County Association of Retarded Citizens’ Shawnee Center to carry out and fulfill its role and mission.

Fountain County Art Council*
Provides funding to develop an awareness of and participation in visual and performing arts and to increase and/or promote historical preservation and culture within the Wabash Valley area.

NICHES Land Protection Fund
Provides support to programs which promote land and wildlife conservation for current and future generations.

Ramey-Gray Mu Epsilon Lambda Fund
Provides financial support for Covington community projects as directed by the Mu Epsilon Lambda-Covington Chapter to carry out its role and mission.

Wabash Senior Citizens Operations Fund
Provides support for the operations for the Wabash Senior Citizens (Friendship Circle Center) of Covington.

Wabash Senior Citizens Field of Interest
Provides support for programs and projects which are of interest to senior citizens at the Friendship Circle Center.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The following scholarships are available to graduating Covington High School Seniors continuing their education by attending an accredited college or university.

CentreBank Scholarship Fund
Provides scholarships to graduates of Covington or Fountain Central High School pursuing a degree in the business and/or finance field.

Covington Alumni Association Scholarship Fund*
Provides scholarships for Covington High School graduates that exhibit a financial need.

Covington Citizens' Scholarship Fund
Provides scholarships to graduates of Covington High School.  Priority given to students in the top 50% of the class.

Dr. Malcolm C. Spencer, M.D. Scholarship Fund
Provides scholarships to Fountain Central or Covington High school students pursuing a degree in medicine or nursing.

Don & Georgeanna Volleyball Scholarship
For those who are members of the girl’s volleyball team, have earned a varsity letter and are pursuing a degree in higher education.

Fountain County Tuition Assistance Fund
Provides financial support for book and equipment expenses to a Covington High School or Fountain Central High School graduates.

Herman & Genevieve Simmons Scholarship
For those students residing in Fulton and Mill Creek Townships in Fountain County.

Hoffman Aesculapian Scholarship Fund
For those pursuing a degree in medicine or nursing.

Hoffman Trojan Scholars Fund
Provides funding for scholarships to graduates from Covington High School.


Jerri Purgason Memorial Scholarship Fund
For those seeking a career in the medical field. Priority given to college level upperclassmen.

Judith Woodrow Scholarship Fund
For those who are members of the Covington United Methodist church and are pursuing a degree in teacher education.

Kevin L. & Marilyn M. Woodrow Scholarship Fund
Provides awards to graduates of Covington HIgh School who are in the top half of their graduating class.

Purdue Opportunity Award Scholarship*
For a graduate of a Fountain County high school.
 
Reagan & Hazel Mallett Scholarship Fund
Scholarships for an applicant majoring in agriculture business operations or agriculture economics.

Richard Ashton Scholarship Fund
For those ranking in the upper half of their class.

Rick Williams Memorial Scholarship
For those who have resided in Fountain or Warren County for the prior 12 months. Children and grandchildren of Old National Bank employees supersede other eligible applicants.

Steel Grip Scholarship Fund
For those graduating from Covington High School or Fountain Central High School. Children or grandchildren of Steel Grip employees supersede all other candidates.


EDUCATION

Christine Brunner Educator Award*
Provides a scholarship to the Covington Middle School “Good Citizenship Award” recipient upon graduation from high school.

Covington Community School Corporation Funds

  • Education Endowment Fund* - Provides grants for innovative and creative projects suggested by any school personnel. Also, aids in the certification of teaching staff and/or training opportunities for teachers.
  • Technology Department Fund* - Provides long term support for the regular operating needs within the school’s Technology Department. This may include equipment purchases, licenses, staff training, and supplies.
  • Athletic Department Fund* - Provides long term support for the regular operating needs within the school’s Athletic Dept. This may include small equipment, uniforms, transportation costs, coaching clinics, awards, association dues and medical/training supplies.

Kathy Perry Memorial Education Fund*
Established to provide an annual supply of hardbound books to the libraries of the Attica, Covington and Southeast Fountain Elementary Schools.

Martha Wallace Music Appreciation Fund
Gifts to the Martha Wallace Music Appreciation Fund will provide funding for programs for Covington High School and Covington Middle School to develop an exposure, appreciation and knowledge of classical and opera music.


Robert L. Buser Service & Leadership Award*
To provide recognition of a student providing exemplary service and leadership to Covington High School.

Outstanding Educator Award Fund*
Provides funding which acknowledges a teacher who makes a difference in the Covington school system and is selected as the Educator of the Year.
 

ADMINISTRATION

Service Fund For Foundation Operations
Provides the donor the opportunity to support the Covington Community Foundation’s internal operations.


*Designates a fund with a balance below $10,000. Grant payments are made when the fund reaches a $10,000 minimum balance, unless otherwise specified in the fund agreement.


How to Make a Gift


Contributions to the Covington Community Foundation will be remembered in perpetuity with earnings to permanently support our community. All contributions, any denomination, small or large, when pooled, will provide income to meet charitable needs.
